The Team
Crew at Seattle University is comprised of a men’s team and a women’s team, unlike most other Sport Clubs at SU. Our operations and management are under the leadership of student officers, who are responsible for the success of the team. Coaches are hired with the consent of officers and Rec Sports, and work with the officers to provide a safe, supportive, and challenging rowing program.
The officers are nominated and elected at the end of the year, and hold the position until the end of the following year.
Although Rec Sports covers the base cost for a yearly average of 40 people for our boathouse and a fraction of our coaches' salaries, the large majority of costs are covered through the hard work and money of the members themselves. As with other Sport Clubs, Rec Sports makes sure we have a facility in which to operate, and leaves the raising of functioning costs to us.
